Croatia

The weather is getting much warmer and the flowers have sprung up everywhere. This just means its this much closer to the upcoming exams next month. It's been quite some time since my last proper written exam (2 years!) .. hope I still remember how to pass those!

With revision, of course, comes procrastination =) . I went to Croatia this past Easter break. I didn't know much about the country before this trip, and was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the place is. The country is like one long strip along the Adriatic coast and travelling from city to city usually takes half a day on the coach! One of these rides (Dubrovnik - Split) was practically just beside the coastline, and the views were just breathtaking.

After flying 2 hrs to Pula, taking a 5 hrs coach ride to Zagreb and another hour's flight , we finally reached our 'cottage' in Dubrovnik. The next morning we explored the Old Town (Stari Grad) before heading to the beaches in the evening.

We were living on the top floor ^^

Next, we took a 5 hr coach ride to Split where we stopped for a few hours before taking the ferry to Hvar island, voted one of the top 10 islands in the world. The island is incredibly scenic.. we drove around the island from one small, isolated town to another, taking in the sparse landscape and rolling hills. We came across a fishing boat returning from a day's catch at a random beach we stopped at. And we bought a kilogram of fresh fish for a pound.. what a bargain! Due to our limited kitchen supplies, we ended up frying the whole lot with salt and pepper only lol. They taste great!
